Mr. Aoyama is the head designer of Factory900, a company known for its creative approach toward acetate frames. He now has an eponymous collection of exquisitely crafted titanium eyewear, and I’m delighted to introduce his work to Chicago. The rim doesn’t quite go all the way around the lens, there’s a section that’s intentionally missing. That “void” is a defining characteristic of this fascinating collection. The finish has a distressed, “damaged” patina.
